Created: 03 Sep 2013 | 7 comments

Dear All,

Pls let me know how to let backup exec 2012 backup through SAN connection, I have a media server run on windows server 2003 SP2 with HBA card 8Gbps connect with Cluster run on windows server 2012 with SQL server 2012 as well, but when try to do backup we still see the job run through local network connection (LAN) not SAN.

 Pls advise the solution.

Thanks ,

HUY

Couple of ways for backups to go via the fc. Have a look @ Options A & B from this KB - http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?pag...

Hi,

I use license Backup exec server 2012 ( 2license) and agent for application and database (1) then what license I need more if I select option A.

My HBA (Fiber card) is Emulex LightPulse 42D0485, then whether this card has option IP binding or not?

THanks,

HUY

For option A, the remote server would also need to have a Backup Exec 2012 media server license. In addition to this, 1 Enterprise Server Option license (which would take care of SAN SSO feature)

Do you confirm need license ESO ?

Can you help to provide me published price, for reference only. I can not find.

It still valid on version BE 2012 ?
