Backup Exec 2012 Differential/Incrimental Backup to Dedupe Fails
Created: 09 Oct 2012 | 2 comments
I am backuping up my VMWare server to a dedupe Disk Folder. I run the Full, and it works, but when I run the differential or incrimental backup, the server says that it can not run because it does not suport hardware based encryption. I have encryption turned off for this backup, and can not get it to stop this error. I deleted and recreated the job. I think this is some sort of bug.

Could you please specify the version of BE, OS on the VMs, and ESX. Also, try and paste the exact error from the job log.
BE is 2012 Sp1,
OS is Server 2003 and Server 2008,
ESX is Version 5
Error in email is: The job failed with the following error: The operation failed to acquire the minimum number of drives and media needed.
Alert on BE Server is: No drives were found that support hardware encryption.
I attached the storage settings screenshot, showing no encryption. The full backup above it works just fine. I have deleted and recreated the job, and only the differential of incrimental jobs fail.
