Backup Exec 2012 hangs on detecting devices

I have got a Windows 2008 R2 64bit Server with Backup Exec 2012 Version 14.0.1798 installed.
My backups isn't working as it gets hangs on detecting devices.
The backups can't run because of this problem.
Please assist.

What sort of devices are being used ? And errors in the Event Viewer ?

Post your adamm.log from \program files\symantec\backup exec\logs.

DeviceIo isn't finishing.
Please list all devices attach to this system.
Systematically disconnect each device from the backup server until the device discovery reports that it has finished.
If you have questions, repost your updated adamm.log for review.
