This issue has been solved. See solution.

Version 14.0 Rev. 1798 on Server 2008 SP2 X64 with Ultrium5 SAS Tape Drive.

Hi,

We have three servers that are backed up every night with full backups to localy attached SAS Ultrium Tape Drive on the backupserver. The backup jobs running fine every night. But we used the Eject Media feature in Backup Exec 2010 this does not work in Backup Exec 2012.

We now have three jobs running at different schedules every day, if we edit the job with the latest scheduled time and select "Eject Media after jobs completes" it messes up everything. I Think the issue is that it wait for user input in Backup Exec 2012 with a questiion to remove media.

Anyone having the Eject Media option selected and working?

Birger Jarl

If you're referring to the Eject Media Alert message?

You can set that type of alert to auto respond.

Click on Backup Exec icon - Configuration and Settings - Alerts and Notifications - Alert Categories

Locate and highlight the required alert type

Make sure "Automatically clear after" is set to something like 1 or 2 minutes.

Hello Binger,

There is a bit change in BE 2012 about changing the Alert Category mentioned above. If you go to

Backup Exec icon - Configuration and Settings - Alerts and Notifications - Alert Categories

Locate and highlight the required alert type and "Automatically clear after" is set to CANCEL and is grayed out.

So to change this open BEUTILITY.EXE from the installation folder of Backup Exec .

Go to All Media server and right click on the Media server and select the option of Edit Configuration. Here you will be able to see the options to change the Media Insert/Remove Alert with YES.

Thanks,

Hi,

Problem solved. Both BEUTILITY.exe and Alert Notification settings was the key to success.

Thank you!
