Backup Exec 2012 upgrade question.

Created: 15 Sep 2012 | 1 comment

Hello,

I am in the process of installing a new 2008 Server in my company network.

At present , I am running Backup Exec 11d SP3 on our 2003 Server.

I will be retiring the 2003 Server and running BackupExec 2012 on the 2008 machine.

My question is,  Will I be able to read /access the BackupExec11d backup files with BackupExec 2012  ?

Any help appreciated !

Thanks,

-Allen

Hi, Yes you will be able to read the backup sets created by your Backup Exec 11d and also be able to restore them using the new Backup Exec 2012.

I hope you've made yourself familiar with the new Backup Exec 2012 console? A lot has changed in the new versions and I would recommend you make yourself aware of the differences before you plan on implementing BE 2012 in production.
