Backup Exec 2014 Agents on Exchange 2013

Created: 02 Aug 2014 • Updated: 13 Oct 2014 | 2 comments
This issue has been solved. See solution.

We are running Backup Exec 2014 and have a new Exchange 2013 server running in VMWare, to replace our 2007 server. we can migrate mailboxes ok, but when I install the Backup Exec agents on the Exchange 2013 Servers (2), The migration stops working, The agents seem to block RPC from working between the new and the old Exchange servers. Has anybody heard of this before?

Thanks

Pat

Try stopping the BE Remote Agent Service on the Exchange server and see whether this fixes things. If not, them try uninstalling the remote agent

We ended up uninstalling the agents and then we could do the migration, but I need to have the backups running during the week we are migrating. I guess could reinstall and see if stopping them would work. Still would like to know what the root cause is though.
