This issue has been solved. See solution.

We are planning to setup DR site data centre with the facility to restore data from the tape being backup at the production data centre. So in the scenario of DR need, we are restore tape shifted from the production site. However we encounter problem during the testing, that is the media server at the DR site doesn’t have a copy of catalog thus we spend most of our time re-catalog the tape before we can start restoring.   With such, our RTO may get affected. Hence we wish to get your consult on the  best recommended solution for the problem.

Hello Yan  If you don't want

Hello Yan

If you don't want to re-catalog tapes then you may backup the catalogs folder or

manually copy the folder. If you take a backup of the catalogs folder then during

the DR you will have to re-catalog only 1 tape which has the backup of catalogs .

Amol

...your other option is to

...your other option is to set up your DR server as a CASO server (licensed option). From there, you can keep your catalogs on both your main media server, and the CASO server. This would be the replicated option when configuring the media server to connect to the CASO.

If you find this is a solution, please mark it as such.
