Backup Exec Help

Hello All!

I am a first year student in CN and just started my first ever IT Job. I am tasked with getting our Backups working and am hitting a roadblock.

 

I am attempting to run my daily backups and find that the job starts at a time different then scheduled. 10:00pm    starts at 5:00am

The job starts then finishes one second later with a success status..... finishes at 5:01am

My media is in the offline field....should the media be in the online field? or is this only when the Job kicks off? I have contacted Symantec and have been informed that the 11d version is no longer in support.

Any help would be great

Check the Alerts tab to see whats causing the delay in job startup? Its Possible there may be some media availability issue!

Hi there,

 

Your media mustn't be in the Offline set...if they are tapes, and you know you don't need 1 of them, simply put into your tape drive/autoloader and then erase it before trying the job again.

If it works, you're either going to have to trash all the tapes (not really recommended) or if you know they're not needed, manually move them to the Scratch set where they will be used.

Also make sure you're running the latest version of 11d (rev. 7170) with SP5 and any additional patches which can be downloaded by LiveUpdate. Make sure these updates are push-installed to any remote servers you might have.
