Backup Exec licensing for Backup of two separate domains

Hi,

I’m currently working with a client and trying to determine the best backup solution for them. They currently have two separate domains but they both have a trust. Would they require two separate BE media servers or can 1 Media server license be pruchased for one domain and the CASO for the other domain.

 

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Hi Sacha,

 

No they don't. You can get away with 1 media server for both domains. Just add the BESA from Domain A into the domain admins group in Domain B. This way when you install the RAWS agent on Domain B and specify the BESA from Domain A it will work.

My suggestion though is to put the CASO in the same domain as your media server!!!
