Backup Exec NDMP option

Is it possible for Symantec BackupExec 2012 to backup from NAS data using the NDMP feature, but then recover it to a normal server without NAS or NDMP?

The NDMP backed up data can be restored or redirected only to a NAS device (preferably of the same manufacturer)....

Unfortunately no. Yo will need to restore the data to a Windows or Linux operating system. It can be redirected to a different ndmp server from the same vendor
