Hi,

i have an issue with backup exec remote agent upon every reboot
timeout while waiting for service to start and the service did not respond in a timely fashion

This is an mcafee epo server

i add NDMP 11500/tcp  into the service etc file.
sometime the backup fail when even the service is started .

This issue of not able to start up the agent has been on for a while

the remote agent is rev 10.1 5629.34 but every time it restart it is unable to automatically start

i have check the port and the port 11500 is not in use
do it need to detect the NDMP server before it can start the service?

how can i go about troubleshooting it?

Check out this doc from Microsoft. Its a hack to set a service dependency which makes the service start last.
