Backup Exec System Recovery
Updated: 23 May 2010 | 5 comments
Hi. I'm performing some tests of this product for my company, and I have one question.
I perform my backups and incremental backups, if I want to restore/recover my laptop/computer to the last performed backup, can I do it remotely? Without the need to go to the machine and perform it manually with the SRD?
Thanks for you help

Restore
Hi,
You must be use Lights Out Restore.
For server, you can use RAC or ILO card to restore remotely.
Best Regards,
Restore
I'm testing it with a laptop.
Is the procedure the same? If so, where can I see how it's done?
PXE boot, but this is really slooooooooooooooow
In theory, you could do this with a combination of tftp and PXE booting. From a practical standpoint, the SRD iso image is too large to make this an efficient process. If you want to try this, try a search engine query for "PXE boot ISO image" There is alot of clutter in the results, but there are a few folks who have published some sucess stoies.
Thanks!
Well, if it is really slow, than it's best not to test it.
Thank you both, for your answers.
