Backup Failed on Linux system(Remote Agent not found)

Created: 29 Dec 2013 | 3 comments

A new error has started to appear suddenly and the backup(2010 R3) of  netgear redynas2100 fails with the following error:

"The job failed with the following error: The resource could not be backed up because an error occurred while connecting to the Backup Exec for Windows Servers Remote Agent.

Make sure that the correct version of the Remote Agent is installed and running on the target computer.  If the server or resource no longer exists, remove it from the selection list. Edit the selection list properties, click the View Selection Details tab, and then remove the resource."

While the backup works correctly for other windows server,it fails only for linux system.

I have checked the version of remote agent on the linux system and its correct. This error has started appearing sudddenly out of nowhere.

Is this because of failed login credentials? If so how can i change it or modify it?

As you mentioned you have installed RALUS and the version is updated, check for any crashes during the backups. Also, is the RALUS licenced? You might want to try to remove/readd the licence and see if the error dissapears

Are you using the BE 2010 R3 RALUS or the one supplied by NetGear?

But this error has never appeared before(last 2 years),

i am using BE 2010 RALUS ver 5024.4 as required.

How can i check the log file for the last backup?
