Backup of NAS data

This issue has been solved. See solution.

I currently have the issue as covered in the following article:

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&pmv=print&impressions=&viewlocale=&id=TECH87855

I am running Backup Exec 2010 R3 and note in the article that there are no plans to address this issue.

Is anyone able to advise if later releases of Backup Exec resolve the issue?

Many thanks.

That message cannot currently be disabled even in current versions of Backup Exec. However the data should still be backed up and be restorable. If you find that this is not happening then you have a deeper problem (possibly related to credentials failure to the NAS itself.

The only real options

1) keep data on systems that can run valid remote agents

2) invest in NAS technology that includes the ability to use the iSCSI (SAN) configuration and use this instead of configureing shares on the NAS.

3) live with the message (as long as your data is being backed up and can be restored)
