Backup NAS device
Updated: 26 May 2010 | 4 comments
I have BE 9.1 and am using a Buffalo linkstation as a storage device on the network. The goal is to backup that data and store the backup on another Linkstation. I have been all over the forums, tried many recommended scenarios with the same results.
Final error: 0xa000fe29 Authentication failed on connection to the server
Final error category: Security errors
Access is denied to the remote agent. Check the logon account for the specificate device
I have created a user on the NAS to match the BE user without any luck.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I seem to recall similar problems with Buffalo Terra Stations and v9.x
If you logon to the media server as the BackupExec service account, can you map and access the Link Station OK?

Ken, Yes, with the domain
Ken,
Yes, with the domain admin account I can map a drive to the LinkStation, this is the same logon account for the BE services, and the user name and pw is created on the LinkStation.
I saw something in the forums that I will try next, Someone got this to work by creating an AD user with the default username on the Linkstation and using that account to run all of the BE services. will try that next.
