Hi,

Environment:-

DB: PostgreSQL 9.x

OS: Solaris 8.x and 9.x

Backup Software: NBU 7.x

Can NBU 7.x backup PostgreSQL running on Solaris? Based on Zmanda link below, it show only for Linux Client?

The ONLY reference to MySQL in the NBU Agent Compatibility Guide is this:

MySQL
MySQL Agent is available from Zmanda <http://www.zmanda.com> For quotes or any other technical or business questions related to this agent, please contact
Zmanda at: symantec@zmanda.com

So, your best bet will be to email them.

Sorry, it's Linux only right now.

Straight from Zmanda's site:

  • Supported OS: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5.x and 6.x, CentOS 5.x and 6.x, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 10.x and 11.x

Still, you could always email them and see if they have any plans/roadmap for Solaris support - it doesn't cost anything to ask!

Thanks for replied. It seem offline backup is the way to go for data integrity. Yes, i have checked with Zmanda as well. Still pending the feedback from them.
