Hi Harsh,

Some things to check:

1. Make sure the backup runs outside of any maintenance tasks (eg. Exchange maintenance, antivirus scans etc).

2. Check to see if your AV isn't perhaps scanning the BE services...if so, put in exclusions for them.

3. Make sure the drive you're backing up from isn't fragmented.

4. If you're backing up to tape, make sure there are no hardware issues with the drive, or Hard Write Errors on the tapes.

Thanks!

Hi,

Soft Write Errors aren't as concerning as Hard Write Errors...getting any of those?

Can you run the backup to disk to see if you get any sort of performance increase?

Thanks!

Hi CraigV,

No currently there is no Hard write error.

No I don't have such space on server so I can't run backup to disk.

Please suggest one thing every time when I restart all services it got stuck at BE server services.

With this server is also responding slow.

Please suggest...!!!!

Thanks

Harsh

...does anything show up in the Event Viewer? Is the SQL Express service for BE started up before all the others?

Thanks!
