backup of same client on two different masters

Created: 10 Sep 2012 | 2 comments

Hello Everyone,

Got a query on an issue I am facing.

I am migrating clients from NBU old master to new master and I have changed the bp.conf entries of client from master server, but the same client was taking DBA backup on some other Master.

Can any one tell me how the bp.conf entries should be of that client, so that the clients gets successfully backup on both masters. one with FS backup on Master 1 and other DBA backup on Master Server 2.

Thanks,

Abaig.

What type of Database Agent are you using?

The server name the client send request to is included in backup script, template, batch or so.

Check backup script or so on which is specified in your policy, and change the hostname where the client send request to.

May not work.

netbackup always contact the master server witch is first on the server list. So in order for it to work you may have to witch around two different bp.conf. This is quite messy and will under all circumstance prevent both backup running concurrent.

Assumption is the mother of all mess ups.
