Hi,

We have a Veritas Netbackup 6.0 running on windows 2003 server. We are facing a problem that, if we take a manual backup of a policy the schedule timings for the all the backup policy get changed automatically though there is no job is in the queue.Really appreciate, if anybody could help us find the root cause of these issue.

thanks,

debasis

How do you mean 'changed'?

I presume these are frequency based schedules? (as opposed to calendar based)

As a very simplified example: if you have a daily backup window open, say, 6pm-6am & a frequency set to 14 hours then running a manual backup at 8am means that the schedule will not attempt to run again until after 10pm that evening. If your frequency was set even larger, or your manual backup run much later, then it could ultimately mean that backups are not run on schedule at all.

Andy is correct...

the best you can do is to set your frequency just a little longer then your open window.

if window is 4 hours set your frequency to 5 hours.

but even doing that what Andy explained will still happen. Doing a manual backup will cause the scheduled backup to occur latter.

I don't have to know how to spell....I work on Unix.
