BackupExec 2010 - Is it right for me?
Been doing some research and was wondering if BE 2010 would be the right solution for the following configuration.
We have 8 Production Windows 2003 R2 servers (SQL 2008, File/Print, etc...) hosted. Our Head office is connected to the server farm over a 20Mbps VBR PVLAN extension. Instead of paying ridiculous amounts of $$ for the hosting company to backup our data I was thinking of implementing the following backup solution:
- Install BE 2010 on a Windows 2003 R2 - Standard (64-bit) server housed at the hosting facility.
- Setup nightly backup jobs schedule (complete 1 full per month + daily incrementals).
- BE 2010 server will run de-duplication and then the data will be transferred across our LAN extension to a Netgear ReadyNAS 2100 appliance thought is setup at our HO location (D2D solution). This way data is stored offsite and is readily available if it needs to be restored.
Just wanted to know if this potential setup looks good or could there be any bottlenecks that more experienced users could see?
