Hi

I configured for my backup in BackupExec 2010 R2 a job with notification. In this notification I added a pdf printer. If I want to print a testpage I receive the message: "A test notification has been queued for delivery to the selected recipient." But nothing happens, the pdf wasn't printed. I tested many pdf printers, but no one works, my favourite printer is eDoc, because I have to save the pdf report in a directory. All installed pdf printers works correctly in windows, i tested a pdf with word or other applications. From every application the pdf print works fine, but in Backupexec it doesn't work. I can choose the printer for the notification, thats no problem, but it doesn't print. is there a known issue on this?

I have installed BackupExec R2 (Media Server: Version 13:0 Rev. 4164 (64bit);Administration Console: Version 13.0 Rev. 4164 (64bit) on a windows Server 2008 R2 (64bit) and used 32bit or 64

Can anybody help me?

Hello,

I was looking into this issue.
To investigate problem further I would need BE logs of the time of sending “test Notification” to eDoc pdf .
Please upload BE log using SGMon ( Backup Exec Server ) and Notification log.

Here is a Link for generating “Notification Log” which are separate from BE log.  http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH24686

Although this comment won't help your specific issue, you do need to be aware of something if you plan to upgrade so this is an FYI

BE 2012 does not support printers as notification recipient targets and as such you may need to look at reporting or SMTP recipients if you upgrade.
