BackupExec Quickstart w/ Dell RD1000

Created: 03 Oct 2012 | 3 comments

Hi,

I am considering purchasing the Dell RD1000 RDX drive which includes BackupExec Quickstart.  I have a question about the capabilities of this product.  I wish to rotate disks offsite each week/day; maybe do incrementals/differentials once per day, and rotate these tapes off site each day, and then do a full backup on Fridays.

Is this type of backup schedule/rotation supported with Quickstart?  Is there a better rotation that I should consider?  This site requires offsite storage.

Thanks

QSE is a cut down version of BE but it does support what you are trying to achieve

I would suggest you to read the below article on rotating enternal HDD

Do give a thumbs up to the article if you find it helpful.

Hello jbaird,

Yes as Amolzerocool stated that you can use the RD1000 & take the cartridges offsite daily or weekly and keep your backups safe.  When you setup the RD1000 you just need to make sure that you set it up as a removable backup to disk folder and point it to the RD1000 so that you won’t have any issue when you change cartages.
