Backupexec system rights needed

Created: 24 Apr 2014 • Updated: 30 May 2014 | 6 comments
This issue has been solved. See solution.

What are the minimum permissions needed for Backup Exec to run.  The Backup Exec service account is currently an Enterprise Admin and that seems way too high.  But whatever level of access it still will have to have the ability to backup AD.

Thank you

Can I integrate vSphere and the SANs to use BE 2012 to backup directly from LUNS and not impact production servers.  I know about this conceptually, but have no experience with BE 2012 to that extent.

...I see you opened a new forum query on this, and I've answered there.

In order to backup AD, the BE login id needs to be a domain admin

...can you hit the "Mark as solution" button on the post that helped? This closes the query off.

Thanks!
