    Hi,

We have deployed the managed SEP client (version 12.1) on all low bandwidth sites. The Symantec AV client on the desktop or workstation shows a small green circle on the AV shield on all workstations.

When the WAN link fails the green circle turns yellow immediately. We would like to know if the client continuously sends the heartbeat to the central AV server at one of location to keep that icon green. If this is the case, then it is utilizing the bandwidth and we would like to limit the utilization.

are the clients configured in PUSH mode or PULL mode?

if it is set to PUSH mode then client has always connection with SEPM, you can change it to PULL mode.
