Symantec Management Platform (Notification Server)

I have barcoder installed and successfully working with the Symantec Administrator Role.  Now I want to allow others to scan, sync and manage changes.  I attempted to add users to pretty much every role except Symantec Administrator Role and they will not see the 'Manage Changes' options which will allow them to Accept Resource Uploads?

Can't seem to find anything in documentation with regards to this?  Would also like to find some detailed documentation to what all the roles currently in SMP do, Symantec Level 1 Worker, Symantec Level 2 Worker, Asset Manager, Barcode User, etc.

About accessing the Resource Uploads page under Barcode Solution > Manage Changes: looks like there is no predefined user role that would have access to this page (except the Administrator who has all the rights).

Requiring every organization in the world to create a custom security role for use with a published solution like Barcode is not an acceptable solution. I would expect Symantec to provide a security role to accomplish this task. I spent hours and hours and days and days trying to setup custom security roles and scopes following the documentation. This is extremely difficult because these knowledgebase articles do not give us information about exactly which permissions are required to perform the various functions. In the end, I had to give my users far more permissions than I would have liked because limiting access in one area would affect access in another needed area. Each solution should have well-defined security roles that perform the basic functions of the solution. There is a limit to what should be expected of the customer.

I have attempted to make a role, but as mentioned earlier, I cannot seem to find the settings with regard to Resource Uploads?  So if I was to allow the current Barcode user Role the ability to use Rescource Uploads what permissions would I change in their role?

To set the permission to view the Resource Uploads page, do the following:

1. In the Security Role Manager, select the Role that you want to edit, and in the View drop-down list, click Views.
   Symantec recommends not to edit the predefined security roles. Just clone the predefined security role and edit the cloned item.
2. In the left pane, on the toolbar, click the Edit (yellow pencil) symbol.
3. In the Items Selector dialog box, uncheck Barcode Solution, check Manage Changes, and then click Save Changes.

To restore the permission to view the Barcode Solution page, do the following:

1. In the Security Role Manager, make sure that the Role and the View drop-down lists have the same selections as previously.
2. In the left pane, click Barcode Solution.
3. In the right pane, under Noninherited > System Permissions, check Read.
4. Click Save changes.

These additional four steps are necessary to avoid giving the permissions to all pages/folders that are under Barcode Solution (this would happen if you would check Barcode Solution in the Select Items dialog box).
