This issue has been solved. See solution.

I followed the following steps to create SRT

  1. Run the following command to start the SRT creation:

  1. When the installation starts, select 1 to create a new SRT.
  2. Provide a name and description of the SRT.
    e.g. TestSRT
  3. Place the RedHat 5.5 DVD in the CD-Rom when prompted and press <Enter>.
  4. Press <Enter> to read the media from /dev/cdrom.
  5. Provide the path to the location of the BMR third party CD (3PPCD) iso file and press <Enter>.
  6. Provide the path to the client installation files. Provide the path to the directory containing the install file.
this should be the netbackup client zip file
  7. Select Yes when prompted to install the client.
  8. Enter the NetBackup server name
    e.g TestServer
  9. Enter the name of the system to be restored with SRT.
  10. At this point, the NetBackup client will be installed in the SRT. When it finishes, press 8 to exit the installation.
  11. The SRT is complete. To create the CD image for that SRT, start the installation by running the following command:

  1. Select 2 to create a CD image SRT.
  2. Provide the name of the SRT previously built and description.
  3. Provide the destination path where the iso will be created.
  4. Copy this to another machine and burn a DVD or something

But while creating SRT, the step 6, never occured, but at the end I was able to create a SRT. I want to make sure, have I performed the write procedure.

Thank You

Hi Girish,

You must have tried creating one SRT before creating above SRT on this same boot server. I mean to say, BMR linux srt creations prompts for 3pppcd only once during first srt creation. Later it buffers required content out of it and uses automatically for further SRTs creation.

You are pretty good here to go ahead.
