Bare metal Restore Windows (PXE service Configuration) Netbackup 7.1

Created: 19 Jul 2012 | 3 comments

Hi,

I am setting up a Bare Metal Restore for WIndows for Ist time.

While I am running PXE configuration Wizard, It has a checkbox "BMR Boot Serer is a also a DHCP server."

In our environment We do not have DHCP at all.

How should I go around it ?

Thanks & Regards

You can install one DHCP server on the same bmr boot server or in case you are fine with media based recovery then create an SRT ISO using bmrsrtadm wizard on the boot server.

In case you intend to do only NW based bmr recovery then you need to enable DHCP either on the same boot server or on any machine in your subnet.

Thanks.

We intend only to do Network Boot.

If I make my boot server a DHCP server, While recovering how will IPs that are static be reassigned to the servers ?

BMR takes care of that automatically during recovery. It will set a correct one.

DHCP one will be used temporarily.

Thanks.
