How Symantec DLP can secure the data while sending on email?

I believe the most typical method is to modify the mail headers and have the actual mail gateway secure the message based on the header information.

    Chin,

there best integration is symantec message gateway and PGP email encryption gateway, if the incident has a response to encrypt email the rules adds the word encrypt into the header and the downline products route, i.e. rule for if "encrypt" is in messageline encrypt email or other location specified. then DLP will update the incident that it was encrypted.

    Chin,

DLP Email Prevent will "modify the Email Header" with ANY term or phrase "encrypt". This will then be recognized by the next hop MTA which will then route it to the Email Encryption Server.

The MTA will route the email to the encryption servr for it has a RULE. To route all emails that contain "encrypt" in the header to the Encryption server.

This is how MTA's work. It is alos very seamless and most people who already have an Encryption server do things. So it is the least intrusive approach to integrating the DLP servers.

    Hope this makes sense.

If this solves your questions please marked as solved.
