Hello,

I have Backup Exec 12.5 Quick start installed on a 64 Bit Win 2003 machine.   I have purchased the linux agent and installed that on a 64 bit machine running Fedora 11.

When I go to create a backup job in BE on the windows machine, I can browse to, and authenticate to the Linux machine but I cannot see any of the linux files or folders.  Does anyone know what the issue may be?

Hello, Backup Exec Quick

Backup Exec Quick Start Edition:
Limitations:
• Additional agents or options to extend the functionality are not available for purchase
• Technical Support is not included and a support contract cannot be purchased

Hope this helps...

Its a best practice to have a "Support Contract" with Symantec...

Were you able to install the

Were you able to install the license key in Backup Exec? If so, then the issue is not with the version of Backup Exec, but with the version of Linux.

The Remote Agent for Linux and Unix Systems (RALUS) is designed to work on Enterprise versions of Linux. For a list of compatable operating systems, check our Software compatibility list here; http://support.veritas.com/docs/307063

Thanks.

Thanks for the responses.  My suspicions have been confirmed.  We will upgrade our license to the Enterprise version.
