BE 2010 and Exchange 2010 - Grouping (nitpicking)

Created: 29 Oct 2012 | 1 comment

With my Exchange 2003 server, I have a single storage group in which my 4 mail stores are situated.  As such, when BE backs up tp disk, it only creates a single IMG folder in which it dumps the data.

With Exchange 2010, it looks like they did away with storage groups.  As such, when Backup Exec runs, it creates an individual IMG file folder for every single database item, so a single full backup of the MS Info Store creates 6 different data folders.

This is really more of an annoyance than anything, as it really doesn't affect anything.  It help me keep things stright when I need to maunally manipulate the B2D data in case of running out of space, etc.

However - is there a way to force BE to create a single IMG data folder in which to dump the backup?

Hi,

This is by design. There Ian no way you can control how many IMG folders are created!

Thanks!
