From BE 2010 to BE 8.6

This issue has been solved. See solution.

Server running Win Server 2003 with BE 10.0 crashed. I pulled out old server from closet running Win 2000 and BE 8.6, I got the tape attached to the old server and BE 8.6 identify it.

How can I restore from media (media that was created on crashed server), using the old server?

Thanks for any assistance.

Your topic is a bit should change it to BE 10.0, not BE 2010.

Restoring a new version's data with an older version might not necessarily work, but the jump between 8.6 and 10.0 shouldn't be too great.

Put a tape in, inventory it, try running a catalog job, and once done, run the restore.
