BE 2010 fails if verified

Hi

This is the first time I've posted in this forum so please bear with me!

I am running BE 2010 and use it to back up an Exchange 2010 information store to a NAS.  At the moment if the Verify After Backup Completes checkbox is unticked the backup job completed successfully (if a little slowly).  However, if I tick the verify box the job goes all the way through the backup and verify process but then ends with the error 0xe0008488 - Access is denied.

The system logon account has the correct permissions and I don't believe this error is due to this anyway as it works fine if the verification stage is disabled.  I would be grateful if anyone could let me know if they've experienced anything similar or know where to point me?  If you need any further information please let me know.

Thanks

Is this happening with other backups sets or only with Exchange backup set?

Also is Encryption option enabled in the backup jobs?

Please refer to this technote to confirm if the issue is the one addressed in this technote " http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH176005 "

Job runs successfully now but logs aren't flushed

Many thanks for the swift replies.  After looking at the technotes it seems that the GRT option was causing the issue and with this disabled the backup completes successfully.

However, I have now run the job a couple of times and the transaction logs aren't being flushed.  The exchange options are set to do a full backup and flush committed jobs.  I have also looked at other threads concerning the problem with logs not being flushed and have ensured that AOFO is disabled both on the individual job and on the global settings under Tools, Options etc.

Does anyone have any ideas?

The logs may not flush

The logs may not flush immediatly after backup, Backup Exec sends the command to Exchange, and it flushes the logs as part of its regularly scheduled maint and garbage collection.  You may need/want to run a DB check against your exchange store.  You will also want to make sure that Verify is always on.  This checks the checksums of the data backed up to ensure consistancy and valid backups.  If it fails it is usually for a reason that you should know about.

Is the bckup job successfult with the GRt enabled or GRT disabled? GRt must be enabled if you want to be able to restore individual mailbox .
