BE 2012 reports incorrect free space on used tapes

I have just install BE2012 and while it is backing up fine there appears to be an issue when looking at the Media under Storage with used tapes not showing how much is free/used (please see attached file).

If you check under the backup log itself you do see all the correct information on how much was put on the tape etc, admittedly this is an old LTO1 Tanberg TS400 drive but that should not matter.

Is this a bug or does anyone have a workaround?

Have you checked the BE 2012 HCL?

Make sure this library is present in HCL. Also with some libraries, compression and capacity reporting is not currently supported. See if your tape hardware belongs to that list.

Thanks for the advice Kiran, the drive is not on the compatibility list (too old I guess) but I would have expected the software to record the amount of data it put on the tape under the various media sets, after all it is shown under the backup jobs in great detail and it knows what tape was used so should be able to populate that information.

Try inventorying & cataloging the media & then re-check the information.
