Hi,

Do you have the latest service pack installed on the media server along with any subsequent patches from LiveUpdate?

If not, install them and try again.

Thanks!

In addition to the above comment, pls do ensure Exchange GRT option is not enabled in the backup job properties.

Do you receive this error when creating another job as well and does this error appear only for this particular server ?

Lastly, what is the size of the BEDB database ? Is it close to 4GB ?

For the Exchange GRT option  how to check enabled or disable on Exchanger server ?

So another job is can create and backup

Exchanger DB aroubg 19 GB

So another job is can create and backup

If you can successfully create another backup job definition, possibly some sort of a job corruption was preventing the original job from being saved.

Secondly, as GRT for Exchange 2013 isn't supported yet, disable it from the backup job properties. Edit the backup job and choose Microsoft Exchange on the left column. Disable the GRT option from the right-side and save the job.

Hello momay,

This seems to be somewhat similar to technote http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH206214 instead that it is appearing during deleting of backup set as mentioned in that technote and in your case it is during creation of backup job.

On the same lines as mentioned in the technote I would request you to open a Support case with Symantec as the background function on which it is failing in both these scenarios could be same.

Hope this piece of Information Helps you... and if it does then mark this response as Solution....!!!

As suspected, the issue is due to BEDB reaching its size limit. Run SQL queries per this KB article which addresses this issue (BEDB size increase) - http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?pag...
