What are you trying to accomplish with both products?

The two can be installed on the same machine, but each are managed with different consoles.

Use BE to take the daily file backup the maybe use BESR to take a weekly or monthly system state image.  Remember, BESR can only write to disk and not tape.

I haven't seen any docs that talk about the town being installed together, but that could be because there isn't a problem with that.

I watched the flash tour of BESR then read the data sheets of BE and BESR and then read White paperes "Delivering Integrated Security, recovery ,and Archive protection with SBE12" and "Converging data and system protection"

And i whant BESR to take daily backups to disk and BE to take those backups to tape for offsite storage.

Then i thought, Why do i have to use BE12 to performe such a simple task? There has to be something more? and i started to look for information.

( It was not that simpel though, i'm using a lacie bigdisk nas to store the BESR files, and BE12 does not find that NAS)

There is the 5 DLO licenses, but why should i sell both products the next time a customer ask about a good backup solution.

I'm so glad someone else is looking at this.  I'm in the fortunate position of being able to install a backup solution from scratch and, like you, am looking at using daily BESR to disk as my main backup method and then duplicating the restore points from that disk to tape. 

I'm new to all this so please forgive my nooby question but what are DLO licenses?
