BE2010 and LiveUpdate Administrator

With version 2.2.2.9 of Symantec Live Update, Backup Exec 2010 is not on the product list as being available to be updated. I'd like to not have to poke holes in my firewall to let those boxes out and just have them talk to my LU server. Saw a post 9 weeks back that ended with a Symantec employee saying "oops we missed this" with regards to LiveUpdate Administrator and Backup Exec.

Anyone know if the issue is being worked on?

Well the workaound would be to install the updates manualy or upgrade the live update.

  • Delete LiveUpdate from "Add/ Remove programs"
  • Delete the LiveUpdate folder by going to:- C:\Documents and Settings\ All Users\ Application Data\ Symanetc\LiveUpdate
  • Manually install LiveUpdate by going to : <http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/home_homeoffice/products/lu/lu/files.html>
  • Run LiveUpdate.
  • Now it should run without
