This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi All,

beremote constaly dies on a SQL box.

Here are the specs:

Backup Host:
Windows 2003 R2 32bit

SQL Server:
Windows 2003 R2 64bit (MS SQL 2005 SP2)

Error on SQL Box

Reporting queued error: faulting application beremote.exe, version 12.0.1364.122, faulting module msvcr80.dll, version 8.0.50727.762, fault address 0x000000000001e490.

This is seconds after it finishes backing up the sql databases.

Now, here is the info before beremote dies:
Database backed up. Database: model, creation date(time): 2003/04/08(09:13:36), pages dumped: 1, first LSN: 76:16:37, last LSN: 76:40:1, number of dump devices: 1, device information: (FILE=1, TYPE=VIRTUAL_DEVICE: {'BE_SQLAgent-model__09e3e176_f5a2_40d6_b50c_2cf11fc7d1e3_'}). This is an informational message only. No user action is required.

Database backed up. Database: sem5, creation date(time): 2009/07/18(15:11:28), pages dumped: 1, first LSN: 75:445:37, last LSN: 75:461:1, number of dump devices: 1, device information: (FILE=1, TYPE=VIRTUAL_DEVICE: {'BE_SQLAgent-sem5__f10224bd_873a_4b7d_916b_f179d595fa3f_'}). This is an informational message only. No user action is required.

Now the backup job has the SQL databases to be the first backed up resource.
The backup job has open file to automatically select.

Any ideas?

BES is 12.0 with SP3 and latest hot fix.

This is really annoying, I don't seem to be able to find a fix.

MAKE sure you are not using

MAKE sure you are not using Advanced open file option for this backup. Edit the backup job and deselect Advanced open file option.

This is just workaround for further details please contact symatenc technical support.

run the backup again without AOFO and if that is successful marks this as resolved.

Ok, Is it possible to give me

Ok,

Is it possible to give me some more information on why this would happen? Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

It's a solution, but not a good one.
