BESR desktop version 7.0. I'm a novice using this for the first time after my hard drive crashed and had some basic questions.....

I bought BESR desktop version 7.0 a few years ago for my personal and office computer. My laptop harddrive died and a new one has been mailed to me. Is my first step to use the BESR CD (can I skip the system recover DVDs that I have for my laptop)? And lastly, does using BESR mean that I don't have to reinstall all the programs, like SPSS, Microsoft Office, etc? Thank you.
