Endpoint Protection

I have started installing SEP 12 on SBS servers instead of SEP 11 as it is easier to setup and use and seems a better fit.  But there are some gaps and it's not a perfect match.

What are your opinions on which is the better solution for SBS?  I am asking this in the SEP 11 group as I figure there may be more people here that (like myself) have been exposed to both versions.

SBS version is released considering Small Business Users.It is very low on Resource utilitzation and gives same amount of security as SEP 11..just few advanced manament options have been removed.

For Small Business SEP 12 is the best product.

SEP 12 is kindda limitet but light and easy to configure. If you have few clients and you do not require extended and complicated configuration and policies, I would go for 12. However, if you may need in the future more advanced features maybe it is wise to invest in 11.

It is difficult to suggest as we do not know your needs, environment etc :)

For small offices where SBS is the only server, I would recommend SEP 12 SBE.

The one drawback in my opinion is that updates for this version are not released as often as for SEP 11.  If there is a necessary fix, enhancement, or improvement, it may take months for an improved build to be made available.

True, Mick is right that fixes are generally quciker for SEP 11. But on the other hand since SEP 11 is much more limited fixes are not required so often.

Thanks for all the very fast responses.  In most cases these are single SBS server sites with less than 20 users.  For sites that have more servers and larger number of users I will still likely go with SEP 11, but will do some reading in those threads thanks.
