Hi

I am try to upgrade BEWS 12.0 to SP1 or SP2 and keep getting the following error:

V-225-136: The patch failed to install. Return code: 1602 ***To search for information about this error, click here

Is there any hotfixes that need to be applied before a SP can be installed? Current Hotfixes installed are, 300287, 300290 and 300699

Both SP 1 and 2 fail with Live update and a manuall update. The install also nearly finishes and then does a role back.

Thanks for your help

Cheers

Brad

In the past some people have gotten that error when trying to run Live Update through RDP. You should run LU from the console, either sitting in front of it, or through RDP using the /console or /admin switch depending on your version of RDP.

If you are not sure, you can run this from a command prompt to see which switch you should add:

%systemroot%\system32\mstsc.exe /?

Depending on which switch option comes back, you can create a new shortcut (at least I like to have a console shortcut) using one of the following:

%systemroot%\system32\mstsc.exe /console

%systemroot%\system32\mstsc.exe /admin
