I've just upgraded from 2010 to 2012 an I have a couple of questions / issues

  • Both the CAS ans MMS both still say "TRIAL VERSION" dispite the fact I have imported the licesnce files.
  • How do I copy jobs from the MMS to the CAS
  • How do I configure central / replicated catalogs ?

Hi Lee,

Try removing the license and readding it. See if this corrects things, and if not, you will have to contact the licensing department and ask them to reissue you with a new license.

To copy jobs you need the CASO to manage the MMS servers centrally, and therefore need to centralize your catalog information.

Alternative ways to access Backup Exec Technical Support:

In BE 2012 to change the Catalog mode for a MMS. 

On the CAS server go to Storage Tab. Select the MMS, right click and go to Details. Under the Catalog mode option there is a drop down to select the mode that you want.

For trial version issue, check if correct licenses has been entered.

As frustrating as it is. If you are entering the correct license but BE is still showing as Trial then you may have to uninstall BE delete reference to licenses on install drive and reinstall. For details please contact support and they can talk you throw exactly what to do.

The licences were showing as trial die to an administration error by Symantec.
