Black Screen with Bootguard and flashing cursor

    I have a newly encrypted Windows 7 laptop. But when I boot - all I get is a black screen with the text Bootguard in the top left. No cursor, no screen, and I can't type anything in or proceed to the username/password/domain screen and onto Windows.

    I've created the Windows PE Recovery disk as per https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH223783.html

    This boots, and says the disk is instrumented (from eedAdminCli.exe --recover), but I cannot decrypt and recover any data.

    If I use the eedRecoveryGui.exe, I can use the client username and password to begin decrypting, but it immediately stops.

    Trying a command line decrypt with the correct --ap and --au parameters, and it says incorrect details ?

    What gives ?

    How can I recover any files ?
