    Hello Everyone,

We use Symantec Endpoint. Our organaisation wanted to block sending ssn using outlook, or outlook attachment or even sending from browser based email like yahoo, or Gmail. Also it will be good if it sends a report or alert admin saying below users or computers tried to send ssn.  Is there any way to accomplish this task using Symantec endpoint or with Symantec plugin. I came to know the above task can be accomplished by using Trend Micro Antivirus using content filtering with keywords from server side. Thanks

you should be using Data loss prevention for this requirement.

You would need to write a custom IPS signature within SEP to do this.

You won't be able to do it with the email plugins.

This is considered DLP, this really isn't the purpose of SEP.

I am afraid SEP outlook plugin won't be able to do this - as mentioned DLP Software would be a way to go:

Symantec DLP endpoint is content aware hence it needs to be evaluated.

Thank you everyone for the suggestion and for quick response. I went to the link and watched the webinar. It’s really interesting. I am planning to evaluate the product. Is it possible to download the product or plugin? Thanks

I am afraid there are no DLP trials available for downloads. Best bet would be to contact Symantec Partner or Symantec Account Manager to get more information about this

You can also look into SMG + DLP component for this purpose
