Hi All,
I have asked Symantec for an answer to this question but I have not had a straight answer so I thought a would put it to the wider SEP comunity.

On the Client Policy there is an option to 'Block New Clients'. I would like to know if you enable this setting on a parent group will this stop client's joining a sub group. As an example if you where to enable Blocking on the Clients and Workstations groups (marked in RED)  would clients still be able to automatically join the Desktop, Laptop and Control groups (marked in Green) or would they be blocked completely? Are there any other side effects that may occur by doing this?

Thanks

Block New Clients

I would like to know if you enable this setting on a parent group will this stop client's joining a sub group......The answer to this is YES

Are there any other side effects that may occur by doing this?    As of now no side effects have been reported however if you wish you can try it on a Test enviornment first.

Thanks & Regards Sandip C Sali

Thanks Sandip for the quick

Thanks Sandip for the quick response. One more question that one of the team here has asked has the Block New Clients always been a feature of SEP11 or was in introduced in one one the Maintainance releases?  I did check the release notes here http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.... but found no mention of it.
