Blocking my router's ip?
Created: 06 Sep 2010 | 5 comments
I've seen several topics that hint about what my problem is and everything leads to me going into my "Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Console" to add an exception; however, I do not have that, I have Symantec Endpoint Protection...no manager console.
What I'm trying to do is set up an exception for my ip address. I went in: Network Threat Protection and added a firewall rule, but that didn't work, still keeps blocking the ip, 192.168.1.1.. Now the question is...is there two different versions...Symantec Endpoint Protection & Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager?
Thanks for helping a total idiot if you can...:)

Symantec Endpoint Protection
Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager is the management console
Symantec Endpoint Protection is the Client that provides you the protection
When you have to make chnages for more than one managed cleint you do it from the SEPM and for an Unmanaged cleint you do it from the SEP , Whatever you are doing is correct.
The rule that you are creating is it for Hosts ?

Which is the SEP version you are using?Tell us in full .You can find out it in the client(Help and support-->About)
Try by upgrading to RU6 MP1(11.0.6100).If your client is not RU6 or RU6a first you have to upgrade to any one of these version before upgrading...

hi I think you need to disable port scan in NTP
If it is a Unmanaged clients then
Open SEP-GUI
Network Threat Potection -Options- Change Settings - Intrusion Prevention -( Uncheck ) Enable Port scan detection .
If this Info helps to resolve the issue please Mark as Solution
Thanks

Where do you see that your router ip is blocked? Do you get a little pop-ups message on the lower right hand corner saying that? Go to SEP icon- View logs-Client management-security logs export them , and paste it over here..
