    Hello.

I have several servers and they all often encounter the same stop error during these 3-4 months:

    0x0000007f (0x00000008, 0xf7727fe0, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) or

    0x0000007f (0x00000008, 0xf7737fe0, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

WinDebug shows that it is probably caused by : SYMEVENT.SYS ( SYMEVENT+7891 )

    OS version: Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition(32bit) SP2

    Symentec AntiVirus Program Version: 10.1.0.394

    Scan engine Version 101.3.0.93

Does anyone have the same problem like me?

I would suggest to upgrade  to the  latest  version, SEP. SAV 10.XXXX is very  old.

    Thank you,pete_4u2002.

I have installed SAV 10 on my servers for about 2-3 years .

    It worked very well before.

The problem often occurs from 2011-3 to now,and I didn't do any change of my servers these months.

I think the problem is probably caused by the updates of SAV,but I'm not sure of it .

Now I'v added the KStackMinFree value in the windows registry.

But there are many system event(ID 1005) on the event viewer, like this:

Auto-Protect could not scan file C:\WINDOWS\FONTS\VGA936.FON for viruses due to low kernel stack.

Most of the files in the eventlog are under C:\WINDOWS\FONTS.

I don't know if it is harmful for system performance.

.fon are harmless mostly. You can ignore the message, however you may try upgrading SAV to the latest version of SAV or SEP (preffered).

SYMEVENT.SYS may be conflicting with some  other driver  on the computers....normally, I have seen upgrading to latest version resolve  these  issues...
