BMR for NBU on Linux - License Key

Hi

We have a deployment where there are multiple NBU Servers, both on Windows and Linux. On the Windows platform, simply installing the license key activates the BMR option. However, on the Linux platform, installing the NBU license key does not activate the BMR option. It is greyed out.

To the best of my knowledge, BMR is not a separately licensed option, and comes with NBU.

My question is : Do we need to obtain a separate BMR license key for NBU on Linux? The BMR manual for Linux/Unix says this, but I am not sure how to obtain this. Is this a paid option?

When we use an evaluation key for NBU on Linux, the BMR option gets activated by default. In this case, we do not install a separate BMR license key. So I am confused even more.

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

Have you actually installed it?

Despite not being "separately licensed", I believe it is still separately installed on *NIX - a separate "option"

Andy is correct - it is a

Andy is correct - it is a separate option. Use the 'Agents and Options' install media to install BMR Master on your master server.

@Andy / @ Marianne : Thanks

@Andy / @ Marianne : Thanks for your replies. I am not sure if we need to install it - BMR was working fine on the same server with the evaluation key. The moment I replaced the evaluation key with the full license key, the BMR option was greyed out.And when we went back to the evaluation key, it was enabled again.

Given this, do we still need to install it? I am assuming the option is already installed since it worked with the evaluation key. Could there be an issue with the license key? Or do we need to generate a separate BMR key?

Well

If it's a NBU 6.0 - BMR was separately licensed feature.

If you're using 6.0 keys for 6.5 you have to upgrade them thru licensing portal to "add new features to it"

Resolved

Hi, we added an additional NBU client license, and now the BMR option is available.

Thanks for your advice!
