  • 1.  Boot from CD after PGP login

Is there a way to boot from cd after loging into PGP WDE? I am trying to run a tool to recover a windows password but the PGP is blocking the program as it boots from cd before the PGP password is entered.

It should detect the CD in the drive and boot from it, if its bootable.  If not, log into the BIOS, and either change the priority so its CD first, or remove the HDD from the boot order entirely

The computer boots from the cd just fine. But when my program gets to the point when it needs to access the drive to change the password, it can't because the PGP password has not been put in yet. I need to be able to boot from cd after the PGP passphrase has been entered.

Did you try to use a bootguard bypass to see if it's going to work in your situation.

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH171761

    As example:

    1) Run pgpwde command from Windows OS to setup a bypass on machine:

     pgpwde --add-bypass  --disk 0  --count 10  --admin-passphrase  "123!"   (the passphrase here is 123!)

    2) Reboot machine making sure you get access to CD/DVD and try to access the drive to change the password
