  • 1.  Boot DVD with Image

I'm trying to make a boot dvd for our off campus support staff to image with. I have tried bartpe and the ISO file is 4.4gb this dvd fails to boot past the windows inspecting hardware - it does work if I leave one of the image spans out and it is the under 3.3gb in size, so I feel this is a size limitation issue of bart.

I have tried using altiris disk creator creating a winpe boot disk and editing startnet.bat as per KB22838 but when winpe loads it trys to connect to the network and then fails. What I'm wondering is - should I be creating a winpe bootdisk to do this and do I need to edit or remove other files to stop the networking from loading, I just want a boot disk to automaticially load rdeploy and start imaging all from DVD.

    Thanks in advance

All you need to do is create a bootable DVD with RDeploy and the image file on it. If you aren't pulling the image from the network there is no need to have it load network drivers.

Just a little confused as to which option I use to build a boot DVD using boot disk creator, I have tried
Create configuration - dos or winpe but each needs to load network drivers.

After doing this I have tried to create Automation Boot disk and network boot disk but both tries to load the DHCP first on the client machine, if the machine is not connected on the network it keeps doing a DHCP retry.

I can't see an option to get out of network DHCP or static IP.

    thanks,
