If i have SAN Booted server with Boot disk encapsulated in VxVM and when LUN is replicated to BCP Site and Presented to another server, it is bootable at BCP Site  despite the  Device paths presented to the server at BCP Site will be different from those of  Production. Just want to know whether it is bootable if we have all the relevant licensing.

I know Diskgroups can be imported at BCP Site with uuidupdate. But is rootdg bootable with different device paths ?

More info please?

Which OS? Which hardware platform?

Which VxVM version?

Is VVR used for replication? If so, the bootblock might not be replicated along with the rootvol.

Success will also probably depend on the extent to which device paths are different. Your best bet is to do a test and watch the console closely during boot attempt.
